Clutch problem

Hi all.
i recently had a fault with my clutch where I lose resistance on the pedal between gear changes. Then the clutch pedal dropped and failed to recover.
So I stripped of the box to find the release bearing had disengaged from the fork lever.
I have a 968rs LWFW and a sach hd clutch.

Damage to the ears appears to have happened over a long period

I’ve researched and found that this release bearing is not standard height to compensate for the flywheel depth.
Is this a common fault ?
Regards
Steve

Is that an OEM bearing? For my job I used 944-116-080-01-OEM.

A little up date for anyone interested.

so regarding the bearing it’s the same as oe but a Sachs equivalent.

I have found one problem!
When the clutch was originally fitted by previous owner the guide bush on the gearbox wasn’t changed to the longer type.

I’m suspecting that this was the problem from the start. 🤞

Then I unboxed the new Sachs hd clutch to find the rivets holding friction plate together fowl on the release bearing.

1.5mm gap between friction plate and cover plate

However this isn’t a problem.
As you begin to tighten down the cover plate it frees off.
I tested it first on the old clutch to see what would happen to the clearance.
Next i have to get the box back on, bed in the clutch and get ready for the next timed sprint.

Do you have a pic of where that guide bush goes? I can't remember seeing that part anywhere on my car.

Bolts to bell housing around the output shaft. LWFW requires the long one along with a different throw out bearing.
