Brake question
What's up with this. New rotors got a little surface rust. Next time out it came off, but looks like the pads don't contact as much as I'd expect. Any opinions on this? Attachment 534113
Ah okay, well just drive it or you can sand your pads down.

You can speed it up by laying a piece of glass on your workbench and tape a sheet of 100-200 grit sandpaper face up on it. Take your pads face down on the sandpaper and rub them around in a figure 8 pattern with moderate preassure. The glass is to assure a completely flat surface. Then reinstall.

i've never found a shop that turns slotted rotors
I had the front slotted rotors on my Aston Martin turned by a local machine shop. They can't use the normal tools due to slots, so used some type of grinding stone. I didn't actually see them do the work.
Had them measure and record the final thickness for each rotor to ensure they were well over minimum specs.
Turned out well. Did leave a cross hatch pattern that resulted in slight wirring noise for a couple thousand miles until it got worn down.
