Living a couple of miles from Evolution Motorsports is TORTURE!

It's like a constant magnetic force... pulling my Porsche to it....

<grin>

The good news is that I've been working with Todd for the past few months, discussing modifications, and today, the Porsche goes under the knife.

I'm getting a chipswitch and three programs (stock, 95 octane, and 101 octane), and installing K24 turbos (Haven't decided if I will install the turbos or let Todd do it).

I should have a full report for everyone tonight after I get the Porsche back.

I can tell you that working with Todd up to this point has been great... nice to have someone tell you that you shouldn't purchase something they sell because it won't offer the biggest bang for the buck... My experience is that honesty like this is rare.

Kinda feel like a kid at Christmas...

Joe, way to go. I plan to do my own Stage4GTR next winter. Keep me informed, and selfishly, I wish you would do the turbo install yourself so that I could learn more.

I'll document the install if I do it myself.

I very well may do the install myself...

If I do; I will document it completely with pictures AND install times. I'm a complete gearhead (rebuilt numerous engines, and restored a few vehicles) so I am expecting the install to be VERY straightforward.

By the way... a big thanks goes out to Duane for setting me up with the K24 turbos!

Dropped off...

Well... just dropped it off...

Todd, as usual, smiled and said we'll take care of everything.

(Including straightening my exhaust tips which were pointed slightly down from when I installed my FabSpeed exhaust).

Todd said he'd take care of installing the K24 turbos for me... so it looks like someone else will have to do a gearhead writeup.

Funny... I haven't trusted anyone to turn a wrench on my Porsche other than me... but I walked away from Todd this morning knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt; he will take as good a care of my car as I do.

Stay tuned... I pick the car up this afternoon.

Update...

Through a minor mixup, the K24 turbos didn't reach Evo today so my Porsche is sitting disassembled inside Evo waiting for the turbos to arrive tomorrow morning.

Looks like I'll be picking it up tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.

I'll post my first impressions to everyone as soon as I fill up with 101 octane and put it in stage 4 race mode.

<grin>

Thanks Ken,

I remember reading your writeup and thinking "I can do it faster than that" Famous last words eh?

I, like you, am a serious gearhead and ultra paranoid about letting ANYONE work on my Porsche other than me.

However... after a few meetings with Todd and many MANY email discussions, I decided to let him do the work. Saves me the hassle and the only drawback is that I don't get the do-it-yourself "warm fuzzy".

Good writeup... I'm somewhat jealous... <grin>

Kind Regards,

Joe
