I’ve a 996 turbo x50 running a stage 2 map, with de cats larger bore manifold and race exhaust.
ive not long purchased her and I thought it was running .8 bar of boost (seems low)
one of the actuators arms has just snapped, and now running just 0.4 safe mode.

I’d like to upgrade, so what would be a good replacement over the stock items, and what sort of boost should I be making ?

You need to talk to your tuner if you want to change the wastegate settings. The tune needs to be set up for it. You can go to 1 bar wastegates and I believe run upwards of 1.1 bar on those turbos.

 

I was sure it was only making 0.8 before the wastegate failed, does this seem a little low for a stage 2 map?

 

On an X50 it does. Test for boost leaks and codes in your ECU.

 

New waste gates and Dv on order. Fingers crossed

 

oem wgs only you can blow it up with after market... unless its tuned
