I receive those e-mails several times a week. I pass them on to spoof@paypal.com and, shortly thereafter, receive confirmation from Pay Pal that they are indeed fraudulent.

I got atleast 5 of this e-mail a week. The frist paypal rep. told me is all their e-mail will start with your frist and last name under your account. If any e-mail saying "dear member", "account holder" or just your e-mail name. 100% that a scam e-mail. Also never give out your password to any direct link from e-mail. I will only go to paypal.com and login there.

Yeah, these are pretty obvious. Check the address in your browser - it's never ebay or paypal or whatever the sender claims.

why cancel your paypal acct? It's not paypal's problem. Just beware of scammers. Just follow the rules and suggestions and you will be fine.

Why keep an account that might be abe to be hacked? I really don't need paypal! They did not even respond when I sent the numerous fake emails to their attention!
