Looking for a shop that can change the color of my highly modified artic silver 996 turbo. I would love to have the car in black. Please advise.....

 

Where are you located? If you are in the DC Metro area, I have a pretty good shop in mind.

 

I have a black one and I am dying to change the color to a nice tone of blue maybe gallardo blue or nsx blue

 

A car which has been painted for a colour change (i.e. totally dismantled to get the paint where it needs) not only would the price be sky high but also the car WILL NEVER BE THE SAME again, believe me I know...! The first couple of weeks you will be running to and from the shop with upcoming faults and all sorts of problems, then its the creaks and noises as a re-tighten car is never the same as a factory assembly and at last but not least it won't look "right" near the edges of windows and corners and it will always look like a crashed car. I´d RUN away from a car that shows another colour under the outer layer as it will be easily seen on the front bumper where stone chips come up...

 

However, throw enough money into it (and at a quality shop), it should be almost perfect. Of course, this includes the painful part of stripping the paint to the base.

 

After having a silver car, you won't like a black one. Black really obscures the lines of the car. Just looks like a bad-*** blob going down the street

How about pearl white (metallic)? Lexus has a beautiful shade of this, but I'd make the flakes bigger. Cadillac also (Escalade....homey)

 

black is the way to go, are your wheels black? go triple black if possible, get mean with it.

 

Take the car to a good shop and you shouldn't have worries. Better to change the color because of taste than because of an accident
If you buy a car and want to completely mod it to suit your style (power,handling, sound, looks etc.) a color change is a good option imho.

Yeah, the front end must be painted again after stone chips (or immediately a couple of times?) with the new color because of that. After that no worries, but of course everybody should avoid those chips

 

Go with the lambo blue!!!!!!!!

 

just sell it and buy a comparable black car... might be cheaper than repaint

 

Foil Paint might be the answer. Un-do it when you want to see it!

my car has 50K in custom work... u know motor etc..... so selling or trading might not be viable option aslo I live in Houston
