Was bored one night, and due to the porsche tax in the UK i decided to make some mono ***** for the lower control arms. In the UK these range from £350-£500 depending on where you get them from.
So ordered a bearing and went about 3d printing one for size and checking fitment. All looks good and will be able to have a set of mono ***** for the LCA for around £200ish. Going to make the radius slightly larger on the bearing spacer for the final CNC too.
Going to be working on the dog bone mounts next as they are around £500+ for a set here.
Job well done and possibly even a more ambitious undertaking than getting people to respond to the topic here. I guess 3D printing capability has opened up a world of possibilities to those with the necessary DIY skilll. Case in point.
btw as you know, that "Porsche Tax" is trans-national.
