Charging voltage woes

I have intermittently struggled with low charging voltage, showing around 12.5V at the battery and on the dash. Alternator has been replaced with new OEM unit.

Today I measured voltage in the engine bay and between the engine bay and the battery. Findings:
- Between the terminal marked "+" in the engine bay and ground I measure 13.4V
- On the negative side I see no voltage drop indicating that the ground connections are good
- See picture - Measuring between terminal marked "+" in the engine bay and + on the battery I measure 0.9V (0.84V on picture)
- Jumping between terminal marked "+" in the engine bay and + terminal on battery I saw voltage at battery increase to 12.7V

Conclusions:
- There is a voltage drop on the positive side between battery and engine bay
- Even though I tried to bridge battery to engine bay on the positive side I was not able to full bridge this voltage drop

Questions:
- Are my conclusions correct?
- If so, where should I expect to find weak cables or connections?

Advice would be appreciated!

Rgds, Ola
