HKS bov???? link w/ info

What do you guys think of this

http://www.sp-power.com/projectcar_porsche_996.htm

I miss the bov sound of turbo car. Is it possible to have this part installed with out affecting anything else when going for example gt640 or gt800 kit. Is there any other bov kits we can add to the 996tt ?
Thnks

Some more vids

the porsche turbo engines were designed to have a recirc valve. While yes you can run a BOV, and the likelihood of the HKS SSQ setting off the CEL is very minimal(its a good bov). You will still run temporary rich conditions everytime you let off the gas.

Also after viewing those pics, that guy is running it in Recirc mode, making that HKS an overpriced diverter valve.

so basically we can install any bov as long as we install it like sp-power did with the hks it in Recirc mode... If thats the case I ll get the racing bypass valve from hks that sounds insane. My friend has it on his supra and it makes a killer alien shooter sound ! lol

Got a sound/videoclip? It sounds like it would be cool.

Short answer: our cars use a MAF setup. Thus, you need a recirculating BOV (diverter valve) else you will run rich at shifts and possibly stall out at idle.

I'm not sure what kind of effect a BOV will have on a Porsche TT but on the Supra, I was still on the factory MAF and had a BOV. I'm pretty sure it would run rich at shift points but I didn't have much of a issue regarding stalling out.

It was hit or miss on my old 3000GT VR-4. Some would make it idle irregular while others seemed to work "ok" so to speak. Either way, running an open atmospher BOV on a car with a MAF-type setup will cause a rich condition once the throttle body closes. The MKIV Supra's ECU is able to account for the condition better so than the 911's ECU if I remember correctly, so perhaps that is why. Most people run an AFC (Air/Fuel controller) in order to correct for this in the Japanese car world.

Any way you look at it, the air that is measured via the MAF as it comes into the system isn't accurate once you vent it into the atmosphere. How your car reacts is left up to a few equations, but the general consensus is that it will run rich/stumble between shifts and possible stumble at idle as well.

not sure why people are talking about non-recirculated BOV's here. The HKS BOV has a recirculation kit for that BOV.

My question would be if we can use this recirculation kit from hks on any hks blow off valve or would it have to be th super sequential. That super sequential sounds kind of gay anyways. The hks racing bypass valve is the way to go if its possible.
