PCM 01-04 any differences?
My new TT has the stock PCM & Bose (Nav). Was there a diffence between 01 and the 03? Is the 03 CD or DVD based. Is it worse then the 04 Cayenne Nav?

I have a question while you are on this topic... is there anywhere to put a sim card in a 2004 tt cab for a phone (picking it up tomorrow!!!)?
Also, SANDOVAL, I've always loved you C2... it fit so well in your (gorgeous garage). I think the ony thing worthy to replace it was a tt. Congratulations and enjoy it!

01 PCM sucks....I have it. It is slow and takes forever to recalculate routes. But it does its job getting me to places. Wish I could install PCM 2, but know it is not worth even trying. Would go aftermarket, but like the stock look in cars.
What's really sad is the Cayenne NAV sucks the nav in our Denali blows it away touch screen too. So 03 is PCMII then? If so that is better then nothing I guess. The Nav will be helpful on those runs through the backroads when I say "I wonder whats down here" ending up getting lost.
I think after 01 they went to a digital system if it isn't 02 then 03 and they are not compatible. Aftermarket is the way to go, Reuss makes an awesome system that appears stock and can use any head unit you choose.

No reason to go aftermarket for NAV (it works just fine...not a Lexus system have you, but just fine)...now for stereo maybe yes...although I hear there is going to be an iPod connection in the near future
