Parts Manager Test Drive

I took the car to the dealer today to have the airbag reset. During the recent electronics installation, I tried jumping the harness terminals with the seats out so I could put the key in without having to put the seats in. Didn't work.
So, it was off to the dealer to clear the code.
Well, the parts manager was there and we got to talking. It was the first time he had seen the car and he is a tried and true BMW guy. Long story short, I offered him a ride. Well, I believe he is now officially converted. That of course was after we picked up his jaw off the floor and cleaned off the seat.

The Audi Service Manager stated "That is the nicest 996TT I have ever seen"

Well, needless to say, I was flying high on the way home. It is nice to hear those kinds of compliments after you have toiled so hard to get it just right.

Just thought I would share that with you guys.

Were they impressed by the mere beauty of the car or are you implying there was some speed limits being broken....

Hanging for dear life. I had to take a jughandle to get back to the dealership. We were stopped at the light waiting to pull onto the highway where the dealership is located. I casually reached over to that wonderful little button...........you know........PSM.
I pushed it to disengage and when the light turned, let her rip. Well, rip she did!! The rears broke loose and came around like a rehearsed ballet as I straightened it out to head down the highway. It was perfect! He was turned from one marque to another in that very instant.

Hahahahahahah!!!!!

S,
They turned the airbag light off for me and I had them look at the right front light assembly. I paid $44 for the ab reset and they are warrantying my light assembly. $1200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For ONE!!!!!!!!
The internal litronic fog light dome has a crack in it. I was very happy about the outcome.
Anyway, just prior to the little jaunt, I paid inside and walked around the back to the car. All of the techs were surrounding it like bees. That was when I offered the test drive.

Ken,

That reminds me of a story when I had my 97 993 turbo and I stopped at the Dodge dealer to look at a Viper. The sales guy was going on and on about how awesome the Viper was and blah, blah, blah. So we took the Viper out for a test and yes it was fast but also a hunk of crap.

So I offered to take him in a ride in my 97 turbo and let's just say he nothing to say about Viper's after that. All he could talk about was 993 turbo's!!

Way to make some converts Ken!
