Mildew Smell- Please help

Hi Guys, I'm having a problem and dont know what is causing it. Everytime I turn on the AC, a smell of mildew comes up. It last for about 30 seconds and then goes away.. Do I have to drain something? Put bleach in any place ? Or change a filter?
Thanks for the Help,
Divi

I really think this happens in almost any car. If the car is turned off with the ac running the system doesnt get a chance to get rid of the condensation and then you get the mildew smell at start up.
I usually run the car and fan for a few minutes with the ac compressor off. this gives the system a chance to "dry" and then I dont think you will have the same problem.
If you do and even if you dont the filter change certainly cant hurt either!

condensation or mole in the AC system. change filter might help but i usually turn the heater on for couple minutes let the hot air run through the system. works for me.

I would occasionally shoot some ozium through the exterior inlets to clean the system. It won't kill mildew but seems to cut down the smell quite a bit.

glad it helped. the smell will come back from time to time but a quick fix would last for a while.
