DME Failure
DME Failure
Had a major service done on the TT last week. Picked the car up and drove 20 miles, got a PSM light, then a brake Failure light, then all the lights came on and car died. Coasted to the side, turned the power off and tried to start the car. Engine came to life, no lights. Drove to work, another 10 miles, got the PSM light, then the Brake Failure, and then dead car.
Had the car towed to the dealer. Service says it's a DME failure ($2500) and that the ECU was not the OEM version so it isn't covered under the warranty.
Any thoughts?

Do you have the GIAC flashloader where you can put back the OEM program? But I guess it's too late now.
Who flashed the DME? I would assume they would be responsible since they did the programming. Also like RT7 said...what a coincidence after you had a major service done by the dealer.
