Advice needed on purchase
Hi guys,
I'm in the market for a slightly used 996tt and am going to look at one today. It's at Park Place Ltd. in Kirkland WA. It's a 2003 with about 12000 miles. Options include nav, heated seats, painted console, some alu. interior pieces. Original MSRP around 125k. Salesman told me Park Place will be asking $118,000 but he said they will surely take $99,950 and maybe $98,500. One owner, local trade. Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Glen

For a 996TT, I would agree. However, '03s came out towards the end of '02 if not before. That's a solid year of driving the car. If it's a daily and weekend getaway car, that's really not that much.
I already have about 17K miles in only 10 months.

I think I saw that car when I was in Seattle over Thanksgiving...It's the Silver one, right?
I'd say mid $90's would be a good number...give them the offer and see what they say. I wanted to get one the Elises they had on the floor, but they were asking way too much...
I wouldn't be worried about the miles unless that is a problem for you...Car wise, the car should be fine, maybe ask them to throw in the 15k service as part of the deal.

Have to agree with everyone else Dr. T. $118! That's about $6K more than I paid for my 03 new about 7 months ago (with painted console, full leather, heated seats). And it sounds like a similar car minus the nav.
If you're willing to take those miles, I'd be making a big counter offer, or as others have suggested, looking at an 02. Good luck!
