Valentine 1 rated much lower for "Instant On" radar in Motor Trend??
ColorChange,
I am tipping my age, but it reminds me of surviving in the jungle. Know you opponent, learn the gound, crawl inside his head and learn how he thinks. The signs are all around you, you just have to know what they mean. Won't guarantee your survival, but your odds will definitely be better.
Go to the Valentine website, they use to provide many interpetations of different situations. In addition, if you have law enforcement friends who worked radar, ask them how they operate, how they chose a target out of multiple targets, how they set up, what is good ground for them, what they look for,. This will definitely help put the odds in your favor.

ColorChange,
You laugh, but did you know the ideal place for instant on radar is at blind cornors/turns and straight aways where they blend into trees and shadows and slight dips on the horizons. Be aware in such places and you receive short, quick, low intensity hits. Especially if you arrows say straight ahead.

It's like they say--when you're being chased by a bear, you don't need to outrun the bear, you just need outrun the slowest person being chased by the bear...
