"Only a turbo busa that has a ****load of power will do over 200mph. We tested a friends highly modded one in AZ with GPS and radar and only hit 194mph. He said the speedo was pegged at 220...."

A bone stock Hayabusa recorded a top speed of over 200 MPH with full mirrors. Your friends bike may have been one of those that were "limited" in top speed.

Take a look at this video...you need to download the file:

Also Busa's speedeo are about as accurate as a 3 year old boy doing calculis. My boy has one..his bike said he was doing 205 yet i was right next to him in the Turbo S CAB...so yeah sorry to say but i think the closer they get to 200 the more they are like 10 to 20 off the real speed limit... Not saying a busa doesnt past 200mph...but still not the fastest bike out there...dont forget for 200k u get a y2k jet bike...that will smoke just about ANYTHING... but also i kow someone that owns one and he straight told me 50 miles...thats about as far as u get before a fill up and thats not heavy on the throttle.

I am speaking from experience because i have both,a Hayabusa and a GT700 that runs 10,s.There is no way you guys are runnin with a Busa from a roll at 50 mph with anything but the most highly modded TT.(Much more modded than mine). The guy can't ride ,if your running a Busa with a GT 700 or less AND WINNING.He's afraid of the thing and probably shifting around 8000rpm because thats where the power is! My Busa (Titanium pipe, programmer, air box, Drop1" front ,4"rear ) obliterates my 700 from a roll.My car traps around 134-135 and is no match for even a stock Busa with a good rider. Now a 10 year old GSXR 1100 is a different story and will trap around 130 even with mods.I'm hoping when i get the TT back from EVOMS it will run with my Busa!

at the speeds you're talking about...leaving the rider/driver out of the equation...we're talking aerodynamics, drag, wind resistance, and traction...provided you come to play with the biggest baddest swinging toys. Now my engineering dynamics classes are far in the past, but I would be interested to hear some engineers chime in here who can actually pen some of these theories onto paper taking into account the correct known constants and variables.

oh and one of my good buddies has had the priveledge of being smoked by VRA i believe few months back in his new mod'd zx12r lol...not being familiar with what extremely mod'd TT's are capable of needless to say he was stunned

There is no way anything but a 1200RWHP+ car can even run with a stock Busa, period, let alone a turbo or NOS Busa. There's a guy who runs his turbo Busa at the track here, he traps in the mid to high 170's.

When I started the thread, I certanly wasn't talking about Busas, I was referring to other bikes like the R6 and various 750s, 900s and some 1000s.

wow, and i thought that i was going to have to sell both my gixxer 1000 and hayabusa cause they were too slow..
.
funny, they don't feel as slow as most everyone here says..
.
JoeTwint is spot on.... most riders don't run their bikes much past 8000 rpm.. unfortunately, that's where they start to roll.. better hang on..
.
a 600 (as good as they are) is not really close to any CURRENT liter bike.. or a hayabusa .. .
.
additionally, when moving thru traffic, i'd much rather be on one of my bikes.. cause not many cars can keep up.. sorry. that's how it is... the CA guys especially know what i am talking about..
.
don't knock it unless you have tried it.. not that anyone was..

let's just go somewhere in the middle and say his speedo was off by 15%. that would mean you were doing 175 in your turbo cab. where exactly did this take place? i can see (and have done it ) on a bike becuase you can get there so quickly on a short stretch of road. you live near the autobahn?

it's not like the porsche speedo's are perfect either. my boxster and my 996 are both off by 4mph at low speed when compared to the GPS. i've never tested it at higher speeds. but from 20mph and up, it always reads 4mph faster. not a bad thing as i'm always going a little slower than i think i am

i think you guys smacking down these liter bikes should start carrying cameras. some of these sound like fishing stories

all kidding aside. this would make for some great video. all you guys must know some people with "new" liter bikes. why don't you set something up on a deserted stretch of road somewhere and tape it?

actually quite a few...even taken some busas out. I used own part of a import performance shop (honda/nissan/toyota) had a couple of turbo hondas w/600+ to the wheels (vp fuels are your friend Highway racing 50mph-150mph would pull about a car. from a standing start...well that is a different story

I've seen the video of the turbo Viper beating the turbo Hayabusa before and I've always questioned that.

This video was made by none other that Gary Jarvo and we have been exposed to his ethics before in his dealings with a fellow 6speedonline member.

This video shows the bike rider at 180 mph in an upright position and not tucked in. If you are not tucked at that speed you will barely be able hang onto the bike, let alone the amount of drag that is created.

The two fastest cars I have ever been in were the McLaren F1 and the Saleen Turbo S7. Both of these cars can cover 0 - 200 MPH in about 28 seconds. A properly set up turbo Busa can get to 200 MPH in less than HALF that time.

Renntech mentioned a turbo Busa at his local track that traps at mid to high 170's. I know of a couple turbo Busas that are ridden on the street that can do the 1/4 mile in 8.0 flat and trap at 188 MPH.

That video is another garyjarvo.com BS piece.
