996tt vs new m5

I have a 03 996tt stock and my brother has a new bmw m5. we raced a couple times and I beat him every time, not by much maybe half car length. so that video of m6 and m5 racing a 996tt does not seem right.

The M6 is faster than the M5.

As far as M5 vs 996TT (stock), it will depend on the cars and the drivers. They are very close in a straight line.

I've couple video from last year with M5 and stock TT

TT have traction problem at 2nd gear, M5 at P500 sport mode
http://media.putfile.com/996TT-vs-M5-p500-sport

M5 at P500 non-sport" mode
http://media.putfile.com/996TT-vs-M5-S6

both car were very close in stright line. At P500 sport mode. M5 can walk away slowly after 200km/h.

from what speed to what speed. depends on how many miles on his car also what setting he had during the race. i can only say the M5 is very fast on higher speed.

I've had four 996tt's. None of the stock ones could run with my M5.

Why does it depend on his mileage

I think because by 3,000miles you had the 500 mode unlocked

The "S500 sport" mode was unlock after first services. I've try before the 2000km services and you can't find S500 sport there, only S500. After couple runs with other cars, S500 sport and S500 is huge different in speed.

The M engines get faster with time.... This is true of all cars, but especially so for the 8000 RPM + M Engines.

The S54 from the e46 M3 really comes alive after about 10,000 miles. These engines (M Engines) really need to be broken in well. If they are you are rewarded very well later in the cars life.
