surprised a turbo & met my future mistress

tonight on the way home i noticed a xenon light car behind me that looked like a p-car. we would romp as soon as traffic broke each time and each time i would pull away. when i pulled over to make my turn, i expected to see a 996. but to my surprise, it was a 996 TT! from a stand still, the 996TT should eat me up owing to a much higher % of total power (which is about the same as mine) available from a much lower % of power curve than my car (though i have a higher redline). however, on the highway when i'm at 4.5K or higher, one would expect the results tonight (dyno below). i'm betting he's pretty surprised!

re: the mistress, i finally saw her (CGT) in the flesh at the LA auto show today in basalt black. oh what a beautiful machine!

Best Porsche I have ever seen!!!! Man, I need one for my new collection...Guess I have to wait for more grey hair before I slip into one of those...only 41 now...perhaps when I hit my middle age crisis at 50...I say 50 is middle age in that my plans are to live to at least 100!!!

What color?

Ben, this is exciting! Are you still planning on GT Silver with the brown/black interior?

I like seal...in between silver and black!!!

yep, still ordered as GT silver/ascot, but i'm having my doubts re: seal/nat grey. however, i think my order becomes non changeable 2/1/04 which is a shame since i'll probably get a chance to see some of the different combos at the factory in early march :-(

"Thats the best color for it in my opinion, black/black"

it's nice but the silver rear mesh over the engine, etc kinda contrasts too much on the black IMO

yep gt silver/ascot. my current p-car is black and it's the last black car out of nothing but since 1994 that i'm ready to ditch for the carefree silver family of cars. the basalt did look very nice on the cgt (sure it'd be dirty within 5 minutes of driving it though), but the lines didn't show as well.

I suppose it would not be too difficult to powder coat the engine cover mesh black....if you wanted a black one....
