I think Craig and I have put that one to bed a while ago... and even Porsche admitted with the 997TT that the tips _are_ indeed faster. Gearing sure does help.
Anyways, here's another GT640 (with hoses, PSS9s etc...) Tip that we've done- I'm pretty confident these guys will run low low 11s. It's been a long time since I was there but I did do 11.1-3 back in the day. We also did the yet _another_ full GT2 front conversion (no thanks to Spidey who started the madness our shop smells of sweeeet coolant!). Went with the Misha GT2 wing as the full one would look a bit top heavy. Either way, one fast polar-silver cab. Needs stickier tires:P
As many GT640s as we've done (and there have been a lot!), it's about 70 - 30 in favor of tips. So not only do us Tip owners have faster cars but we love to mod too dammit

Will there be new times coming on your car?

It's a _little_ less stiff than the coupes but in this weather can't be beat.I'll get some new times soon. I honestly haven't gone back in a year. I thought I'd retired but the car does have some goodies on it. I just have to find a Saturday that isn't 110 degrees and/or people don't need intakes, headers, flashes etc... lol. Easier said than done.

The kit is usually about 3600 depending upon which pieces you want/need...
Sharky I think the argument never was speed at least in my minde..however for track purposes (not drag racing) a stick is better for control and sliding the car..unless of course you have the gearbox of and F1 car or an Enzo..but a tip still has a torque convertor and is not an SMG or F1 so for true shifting purposes and skilled track manuvers the stick will always win...but for your puposes Tip is the way to go..The 997 Tip tested as fast 0-60 as the CGT ..thats scary!
