Any special hints on DIY Diverter Valve replacement?

I've read through Stephen's (Imagine Auto) DIY instructions for replacing the diverter valves (thank you Stephen), and am trying to build up the courage (or stupidity, as I am not mechanically inclined) to replace mine myself.

Does anyone have hints of what NOT to do, so that I can avoid some disaster that will obviate the cost savings of doing it myself? Thanks.

If you have huge hands, it is alot harder to get in there and change them. Space is very limited and tight in there. Besides that it is not too hard to change.

Alpha-

It really is not the hard to do. I am not the best with tools, but I have changed a few sets just to be familiar with the process. I would have our technician looking over my shoulder and double check my work. Never had a problem. Smaller hands would have been the only thing that would have made the job easier.

Have a look at out install sheet is well. We install the Bailey Motorsport Diverter Valves.

Hope this helps.

Make sure the rubber tubes aren't kinked or pinched when your re-install them on the DV ports.

If these guys are your friends the diverter valves should take no more then 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. If they take longer they have obviosuly never done t before. Pretty straight forward. I would do the EVOMS F-hose at the same time.
thanks

Had mine done at Sharkworks. James made it look real easy, but that was after he loosened a few bolts and DROPPED THE ENGINE DOWN a bit .
All in all took about an hour or so IIRC.

Wow, I just saw that cable operated clamp tool! You should definitely borrow, buy, or steal one of those!

I was ready to "take out" the factory assembly tech who installed the clamps facing the front of the motor -- so I could not get my "bear paw" hands and a normal plier on the flange. That tool would have cured my problems. It is not really a tough job, but space is limited.

Good luck, Roger
