Quick question any tips on how I can improve? How's my shift speed?

I haven't taken the car to the track on this setup, with this 60-130 time what type of trap speed can I expect can I expect in the 1/4 mile?

Shift speed was so-so, but the boost recovery of your small stock turbos is excellent. So, in essence, your shift delay ends up being less than a lot of guys that actually shift faster than you do.

Trap Speed....I'm going to guess 123-125 or so.

 

Trap speed should be more like 120-122mph.

 

Do you know how much whp he has? I do. And he if traps only 120-122 with as much power as he's making, I'll be extremely surprised.

easy2speed, have you gotten new 60-130's after your mods? Curious to see improvement?

 

I've got some 8.40s-8.60s but TMC CL65 has similar whp and has run a 7.7X - so I'm embarrassed to post mine . Mine is a 6speed and his is an auto though.

I won't improve any since I traded it for a GTR yesterday.

 

Yea, you said 466whp in the post . You're probably right though, because I have a buddy that has an EVO 8 with 450whp and he trapped 123mph. His 60-130 was like an 8.90 though.

 

I would love to know more about his setup. If you or him don't mind such as mods/turbo/any weight reduction?

This was my first time doing 60-130 runs. So I have a lot to learn, I am moving to a larger tire and I will bump the pressure if I try it on these tires. I'm Pretty technical when it comes to racing, I am sure the car has 8's in it.

 

peshki, whats the break down on your evo? i have an evo 8 with cams and a 9 turbo. on pump gas my best vbox run was a 12.6 also i trapped 115mph with it. im know the meth is helping a good amount. im running 27psi but my lead timing is on 2* at peak tq and only 8* by redline.

 

I've got some weight reduction also , the car is a beast down low. Once the weather warms up I will be taking her to the track. Wont be for a while as we are expected to get another foot of snow from Tues into Weds

As far as your tune is concerned. It seems pretty much on as far as timing, Evo's don't like much timing at at peak tq. Your boost sounds very high for pump gas. Are you running a tephra rom? Lean spool?

What are your shift points? Do you have an data logs from the runs?

 

yes im running ecuflash. i have the tephra rom on there as well. i shut off lean spool as it was giving me knock at 3k around 10 psi. runs clean and clear now but timing is very low. im shifting at 7200, im sure i have a data log of the run just need to pull it up. are you running ecuflash as well? considering i have cams i would expect more power im at 355whp right now by 7k. your car is pretty strong for sure. i have mostly all the same mods as you. shoot me a pm so we dont clutter up the thread.

 

His car just has an AMS 35R kit with cams. Everything else is stock.
