Stevens Creek Porsche (San Jose, CA)

Well I had been warned that the guys at Steven's Creek were a bunch of A-Holes. Well I am here to add to that opinion. Don't want to get too deep into the details... but they are very penny wise dollar foolish. To think I bought 2 cars from these guys. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any opinions who my business should go to in Bay Area in the future.

Thanks in advance.

I heard Stevens Creek BMW/Porsche/Audi/VW is one of the worst dealership in the nation!

Richard,

Don't get me started on these guys! When I was shopping for my car, I went to talk to SC Porsche. They had what I was looking for and took me on a test drive. The salesman proceeded to "Show Me" what this car was all about - redlining every gearshift - on a car with 30 miles on it. I got out of the car, said thanks very much, and left there. In a hurry. What a knuckle head that guy was.

I don't know about the sales staff / management, but I have been pretty pleased with the repair service they have provided me.
The parts department is also usually fairly helpful.

I have dealt with a salesman named Bob Stewart. My experiences have all been favorable.

If it's doable try going to Kimo at Claridge's. Tell him you're modding-bastards like me (Sharky's noisy black TT) and he'll take care of you. He's really nice and really does aim to please.

I recommend very highly, Michael Stead in Walnut Creek. I've had wonderful experiences through their service department (Eric Shaeffer is the Service Manager) and I purchased my 03 Coupe through them last year (Mike Soya)...all of which was very, very pleasant.

Best of luck,

Best of all though, no kidding, I recommend you ALL try doing stuff DIY or ask Bob since you're local. After having Stephen and Kevin and Bob show me the ropes on my garage floor, I will barely ever take my car to the dealers again... I've been through all of the ones in the Bay Area and the stuff they do sometimes makes me want to....

Alex, with all the mods you've done your car probably scares dealers!

I dealt with Bob Stewart at SC and had a great experience there. Purchased the car from him. Also had no problems with the service department either.

ROFL only some. Let's just say one of the first "mods" I did was to replace the faulty BOVs only to go to the head SA at a local dealer who told me I had voided my warranty. I then proceeded to tell him that not only were dealers in California and throughout the country installing them but doing so under warranty. He then claimed he called Atlanta etc.. and checked on it blah blah and still got the same answer. Other than that, the dealers I go to still like me After all when they do work on the car they tend to drive it afterwards to make sure...

I recommend Gary Quibelan or Doug Rubi at Carlsen Redwood City. You will mee them on January 31st. They are AWESOME. I bought 3 Porsches from them now and at least 10 customers of their will be at the meet.

Let me know if you want any intros.

Fred

I must agree with Fred, Gary at Carlsen is a great guy. I bought my 911 from him and he took great care of me. Friendly and professional!

Stevens Creek Porsche has never been a BMW dealer. The VW part was sold some time ago.

"The salesman proceeded to "Show Me" what this car was all about - redlining every gearshift - on a car with 30 miles on it."

The motor is run at redline at the factory for 10 minutes before it is put in the car. You cannot over rev the motor under acceleration as it has a rev limiter.

I have know Bob Stewart for many years - never bought anything from him. He helps out us local Porsche owners. When you guys have questions and I cannot find the answer I call Bob and he gives me the answer and I post the info here. He has introduce me to the 'important' people there including the owner. Great guy in my book. He has been there many years and owns a Porsche.

Tool Pants,

I assume you feel that my comment has no basis since you quoted me. If I'm going to spend $96,000 on a car, or less for that matter, I will follow proper break in procedure. Pushing a car that hard, as far as I know, doesn't follow with that procedure.
