I am on a cruise ship and the computer does not allow me to cut and paste a link. The thread title is: First 996TT in the 9's? Anyone know "Jorge Diaz"?

EVOMS is putting the finishing touches on my car this week. Thereafter, it comes back to LA for some additional tweaking. I should be driving it shortly after I return from my current vacation. As to when I will have a 9 second time slip, that depends on many factors, including most significantly, if and when I decide to drive five hours round trip for a single pass, before being kicked off the track for not having a cage.

Craig, here in Chicago they have certain events that they allow cars to run without cages...... so you need to check into that..... trust me it's alot of fun and you should try it at least once...
that's what Im going to do... almost there...

Did it once, never again. My old car with 1100lb springs in the rear feels like it is falling to pieces. My time? 13s or so

Good to see both cars progressing and almost done, we need some diversity from the GT700s. Craig, don't bother much about the quartermile, it is about how good and hard you launch it, just give it to one of the pros here, have them do one run, set the record, and then go drive it like it was meant to be...Oh, and take with you the AX22

So put in the cage. With all that power it will only add safety. The cost is very small compared to whats been doen to your car.

I agree, Craig, regardless of your dragstrip ambitions, you may want
to seriously consider a cage. Porsche Techquipment or many other options
dependending on your back seat needs. Good luck on the rebuild,
we are all anxiously awaiting your announcement of a good running
daily driver SUPERCAR!

Craig,

You should bring your car out next time Joe and the SECC club rent out the track. They have been known to look the other way when people have run times faster than their safety equipment is allowed to.

I thought the Jorge seemed pretty legit and the explanation sounded believable. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?
