I asked around on this one and it appears you need to buy a new cover with airbag. Not sure you would want to try and just change it out since this is the same piece that will be indented on your face if your airbag deploys.

I've swapped the cover from the airbag from grey to black - I did not notice how to do the emblem but the rest was not hard, bet the emblem just pops out (?). Just had to bend a few tabs and the cover comes off easy. If you can pull the steering wheel, you can do this. Let me know if you get the silver crest - I think I want one too.

My understanding is the emblem is attached to the airbag unit....so when (or if) it deploys it is not a projectile. Therefore changing it requires a change in the entire airbag unit.

The emblem is attached to the plastic outside piece only, not internally to the bag or anything else internal, my thought is the entire plastic "flips" out of the way upon deployment of the airbag - otherwise you would get that plastic piece in your face. The guys making the silver crest know this - that's how they are attaching a new crest - they are not "making" an airbag - just poping old crest off and attaching the new one - question is - is it glue or a plastic tab - I just did not pay attention as I was swapping the whole plastic piece due to color. Yes the plastic piece can come off the airbag assembly w/o much work - I did it, no problem, and I sit at a desk all day !!!
