November 2004 for US . Latest spy pic has a rectangular camo panel in middle of hood - is it hiding a NACA duct or air outlet like on GT2 and Enzo ?
M5 Wagon with SMG may come to US ! I'll take that for my family vacation car over a Cayenne Turbo anyday since I rarely go anywhere near snow or gravel. 5 series sedan is not that attractive to me in the rear areas , but since a wagon is a box, it won't be as relevant . (Take that Mercedes , for not giving us Europe's E55 Wagon. )

For whatever its worth, I test drove a 530 sport shortly after a customer of mine took delivery, he was so excited he wanted everyone to feel his joy. I gladly accepted and came away very impressed by the new active steering and active headlights, the car felt very solid, not fast but quick enough for grocery hauling, compared to our E500 the handling felt superior but build quality and acceleration went to the E. The sticker price of his car was in the mid to upper 50's, a bit pricy for 230 hp!

Hated..

I hated the 745 when it came out. Absolutly hated it!!

I just took delivery for a steel gray 745IL. With the 22's I think the car looks insane. With that..

I don't currently like the looks of the new 5. I absolutly loved my M5. With that.. I'm 50/50 right now. I think the car might grow on me over time.

There is nothing like a perfecly balanced 500 HP NAE.

I am curious to see how the V10 sounds. I have not heard a V10 sound better then a V8, except for the Carrera GT and Formula 1's. I dought this will rev to those levels though.

I think a 500hp NAE 4door sedan at 80k is a steal . Any info or prediction on weight and 1/4 mile time? Not a biag fan of BMW but this car seems like a good additon to the family because even my wife can drive it if they put on the SMG.

I thought of waiting to see what the M5 would look like before I committed to the E55. So far, I am very happy with my choice of going with the MB.

From what I've heard the V10 is supposed to be very similar to a formula one engine but detuned. The redline is also supposed to be around 9k rpm.

I highly doubt that the M5 will be available in '04. It is debuting as a show car in Geneva in March. Then they still have to finalize the interior and other small details. Plus, Europe always gets the Ms sooner then the US. The last M5 was a year late to arrive in the States. I am expecting a Spring '05 Us release. As a previoud poster said, avoid the first year M5s, as this is a completely new block and they have already had 3 engine failures in testing (rumors). It should be an amazing performer, but the new engine has me worried.
