Yeah, but who wants their brand new car in the dealerships garage than their own home garage?

The new M5 is going to be very nice, and when the time comes when I have to decide my next ride, it's going to be hard to choose between a new M5 or a 996 turbo.

This is good.
How many beers will it take to take her home though?

I don't like any of the current BMWs anymore... I loved the E39 M5... E36M3s and the E46M3s, even if their engines grenaded... In the late 90s it seems like Mercedes was always one step behind BMW and that situation has obviously reversed itself....

The rear end of that photoshopped M5 looks like one car sitting atop another.

Do you get a new computer and just start pressing different buttons until the thing turns on? If you sit down for a while w/the manual and play w/the I-drive you will have it in no time. People that complain about this system are too ignorant to read about how it works.

You think so, huh? Anumber of my fellow M5 owners that had clutches burn out with just a few thousand miles had to fight tooth-and-nail to get a replacement b/c it was "driver abuse". Come on, it's an M-car for crying out loud, it should be able to stand up to some abuse. Early build 2000 MY cars burn a lot of oil, but BMW changed something that the subsequent ones don't burn as much. Major, no, but annoying at $10/quart from dealer only for 10W60 synthetic. 2000 MY had regular 97-00 headlights, while 01 & later had "angel eye" and rear LED's. 2000 MY had only sensors in the rear for park distance control, while '01 and on had front & rear. I'm sure there are more that I've forgotten about and while none of these is a big, big deal, I certainly would have waited for an '01 if I had known.

Personally I think the styling on the new 5 series is horrible .....I would much rather be driving an E55..
