Max boost in GT2 w/ K16/26

I had Kevin's K16/26 ZC's installed an I am seeing a lot of boost. 2nd gear 1.5 spike with solid 1.3 - 1.4 in 3rd and 4th. What is the max boost I can safely run?

I had his stage 5 ZC turbos with the upgraded springs and I had a similar issue. is it closing ur TB down? whos programming are u running. most tuners have the 1.3 bar shutdown for protection.

you should dial back those turbos for 1.3 bars and run it on 100 octane... pump gas at those levels can be fatal.

so far I have not had a shutdown, but it is still too soon to be sure it wont happen. I am running Evoms stage IV software and 110 leaded racing gas. We measured 11.25 AFR with the stock FPR.

Garret,

If you are running LEADED racing gas does this mean you do not
have an oxygen sensor ??
Do you have any other problems running leaded gas?

TIA,

Marty K.

These issues are getting to me.

I was running Evo stage IV with K24's but the power was on/off and I was blowing MAFs.

If you ask 5 mechanics/shops you get 5 different answers. It would appear that politics and profits have taken over this industry. The shop that installed the 16/26's told me the Evo/Giac software will work fine.

Talking with Kevin (builder of the turbos) he said not to use them as there is no softaware available for them.... WTF! I asked if he could write software for me and he said no.

so where does this leave me? I keep throwing money at the problem trying everyones suggestions, but I am getting nowhere. All I want is a 550 - 600 HP motor with a very linear powerband. not an on/off drag car.

Who has the answer and who can deliver?

I ran into the same issue you had during research for my Zero Clearance turbos and programming " that works fine" was not good enough for me. I wanted programming that was SPECIFIC to me and my setup. I have the optimum ECU files for my setup and believe my posted data speaks volumes. I will agree that politics and profits have overcome the focus on the customer. Just my opinion. I hope that your issues can be resolved in a timely manner, good luck. Kevin G

I would stay away from leaded gas unless someone has found a way to make these cars run without O2 sensors.

Also, what was "on/off" about your Stage IV setup on the K24s? Was it less responsive than stock?

Garrett,
I totally understand your frustration having gone through the same agony.
Instead of buying a la carte parts off the shelves and having it install by some tech. I think it's better to buy a complete package and having it install and speciffically tune to your needs by the same tuner/seller such as via Kevin, Ruf and Protomotive.

cant the "final tuning" of these complicated upgrades be done on the dyno? seems like that would be the only way to be totally accurate?

Clearly, one of the best, but at what cost? Quality and performance of a Ruf is undeniable, but the performance to expense ratio is not good. Not everyone wants, needs or can afford a Ruf. There are cheaper alternatives for similar performance. Kevin

Quit messing around and get the GT700 package...you will not be disappointed...maybe scared, but definitely not disappointed.

Trust me it does everything well!
