Getting air with the 996tt, multiple codes on landing...
Hi all.
The main autocross season is over. The last event this Saturday
was at a site with such dips and rises that I was getting all four
wheels off the ground in places. Irritatingly before the last turn
in my third run, my car went into limp mode just after one of my
landings, and lost me a good .3 seconds, and eventually the win.
The car threw PSM FAILED, ABS FAILED, and CHECK MOTOR
lights. After cooldown, shutdown, and restart they would re-appear
and my idle was no longer smooth, but would hunt around.
I had to bail the event, and my main competitor got 9 runs to
my 3, and just nipped my third run time with his ninth.
Anyway, I decided to limp home, watching the temps carefully...
At an extemely inconvenient location on a no-shoulder approach
to the S.F. Bay Bridge the motor such down in heavy freeway
traffic! I managed to find a wide spot between the K rails and
the fast lane, and called the CHP and AAA. When the car was
on the flatbed I could see one of the hoses from the left intercooler
was dislodged.
Apparently all the warnings (ABS,PSM, and MOTOR) were due to
that one hose off. Also the shop saw a MAF code, which they
cleared. I suspect/hope that won't repeat and was simply due
to the altered air flow characteristics of the hose-off situation.
The car runs fine again now. Yow.

I'd say the PMS ABS codes were probably from lifting all 4 tires and having them spin at different speeds...and the motor code was from the hose that popped off on landing.
Sounds fun, until you broke down.

It happened to me once (at the track) to have the PSM and ABS lights come up with no apparent reason other than being very hard on the brakes... RESULT: Two flat spotted MPSC's... as the ABS went nuts (right before a tight turn I had to brake hard and NO ABS. I turned the ignition off and on again and all cleared.

I'm not sure I know how to read the results from the link you posted, but I'm guessing having your name at the top of the list and having the biggest number beside your name is a good thing!
Awsome work Joe!
Joe way to go at the autocross!!!!! Considered up grade to silicone boost hoses. I did it to prevent what happened to you happening to me at the track!
Great job and keep at it!!!!
