Do my wheels need spacers?

I just recieved my Sportec Mono 10's for my turbo and although its really hard to photograph correctly it seems like my back wheels are set further in than my front wheels. Is there an accurate way to measure or do you just have to eye them up? If you can tell by these photos I would appreciate any advice.

You will probably need the spacers that should have been included when you placed the order.

These wheels are not made to the factory turbo offsets, but are made so that one size wheel will fit various Porsche's. So for your car the Sportec fitment list shows an additional 25mm spacer should be used. Any spacer should work, but Sportec may have one specially made for their wheels.

Check here for fitment sizing-

That does not look right. You should not have to use a spacer. It looks like they sent you the wrong offset. Talk with Sandoval and see if he is using spacers. For the $ you pay for those wheels they should fit perfectly. Spacers IMO should not be an option.

Exactly, that's for the narrowbody cars! Even custom made offset wheels or ones that are made for the turbo sometime sit a little in and could use a 5-10mm spacer, not 25 though that's huge! What sizes are those?

iLLM3 and LUIS95993,

You guys are both kinda correct.
Yes- designed for narrow cars, expensive wheels that need spacers, 1'' spacer is pretty big!

But,these wheels are only made with a 60mm offset for 11" width's. Sportec recommends using their 25mm spacer for wide body cars!

That's just how these wheels are made!

Check it out for yourselves:

So these probably are the correct wheels if they are 19x11, plessdude just needs the correct spacers.

Interesting. I mean Sportecs are far from cheap and extremely god quality, kind of funny how they wouldn't offer a more specific offset for the wider cars!

The wheels are sold without spacers however SPORTEC recommends a 7mm front spacer and 25mm rear spacer for this application. The (front) 19x8.5 and (rear) 19x11 which are sold for the 996 TT are actually ET50 in front and ET60 in rear.

Yes in the past SPORTEC issued out spacers with wheel packages, however after changing their manufacturing process and company who actually produces the wheels things have changed.

SPORTEC wheel spacers come complete with both both lug bolts (if applicable) as well as mounting screws to the Mono/10's inner hub.

Well it looks like Scott from Rival( who I assume is "German Driver"?) saved the day for me. I should have the correct spacers next week. Although I am not thrilled about using them since I always thought that Sportec made a version specificly for the Turbo I can live with it. The wheels still look awesome though so in the end I am happy.

Spacers or not, the wheels would have more material to compensate and add unsprung weight. Same difference.

If it make you feel any better, my understanding is that even RUF makes one size fits all wheels and specifies spacers.

This really has nothing to do with company's ability to provide superior/inferior products. The reason for this is simple and that is to offer the driver the widest possible range of customization for their application. In addition, it would not be monetarily beneficial to SPORTEC to make hundreds of the same model wheel in multiple offsets knowing that certain models just would not sell as well as others. That would be cost prohibitive and excessive to the point that prices would increase even higher than they already are (we certainly do not want that)

Sure there are common ET setups however that is not always the best for certain applications. In many cases, a less aggressive or more aggressive ET is required for suspension and handling to perform at its greatest potential. By creating a wheel with a set size lower than the norm per se it gives the user more of a possible range of options. I understand many see this is a detriment to a wheel but SPORTEC would never provide a product which would reduce the drivability and or performance of an already near perfect vehicle.
