PV996TT's 996 Techart on the race track
SubscribeHere's a series of shots from the video where an Audi RS4 with about 450 bhp (ACE Competition / Hohenester) is passed by a Porsche 911 Turbo X50 Techart (550 hp). The RS4 reaches about 190 km/h on the straight and the Porsche around 220-230 km/h.
This is on the Gellerasen race track in Sweden, photoed summer of 2003.
An EVO VI smoked the brakes (no pads left) and went into the wall somewhere around were the 996 is on the last picture...
Picture taken from the longest straight, note the Rs4 in the background.

Everything was filmed from the RS4 except the EVO crash.
Quite spectacular. Think about flooring it on the straight only to realise there are no brakes (or VERY limited) when you just passed 100 mphs plus... No injuries but the car kind of flew over the gravel pit and almost flipped. The left side was not a pretty sight, but he managed do drive home in the car.

Nope. He had a problem with the insurance company and I won't publish any pics to make things worse. (The crash has been settled now and they repaired the car)Originally posted by 996turbo

The car was not a rental though, if that was what you meant?
I was just refearing to the way they look

Enjoy the pics of the cars that didn't crash instead!
Or... check here if you like to see a BMW 850 CSi that drove too fast on worn tires.
The BMW was not damaged like the EVO though, the EVO came thru MUCH faster and kind of flew over the gravel pit.
What suspension does that TechArt 996 Turbo have? Are they stock offsets on the wheels?

It's using Ohlins. You can see one of the (custom colored) black reservoirs below. http://www.ohlins.se Originally posted by Dock (Atlanta)

We'll get back with more information about the suspensions and settings...
...and how to get rid of this...
