Peak Boost on my gt700

Just got finished installing my new defi gauges with link display. On pump gas I see peak boost at 1.6bar and on race I am seeing 1.8bar. The stock boost gauges is only reading 1.2bar. I have seen the stock boost gauge hit 1.3/1.4bar previously.

The defi gauges are pretty correct. You should see 23-23 lbs of boost on pump program and about a pound more with 100 octane. I was getting steady 23.5 lbs on my gt700 pump dyno of 585 whp thats 23.5/14.7 = 1.59 bars

Your right were you should be I promise. Car rips right mine sure does.

Jags I also have the new Zaenar diod in my car so my stock gauge only reads 1.0 bar flat. At least you had it showed something reasonablly more accurate. Sometimes I think im not boosting for ****. Put then I get into second gear and I realized I'm wrong. hahaha

Time for an A-pillar boost gauge Defi looks nice

they are not.... I can bet on it.... here, take a manual guage and hook up a hose to any upstream air pressure... just to make sure... and Ill bet u it will be the same.... things that make you go hmmmmm. Im not going to mention names out of respect for tuners.. but there is another way to get around this problem besides the Zenar hardwired diode.
I know why...

ps. if ur running 1.6 bars sustained on pump gas... OMG- I hope you dont blow her up. 1.5 bars on 100 octane is pushing it let alone 1.6 and up on pump. call ur tuner/installer asap and get assurance that its OK....
just to give you an Idea.... we run those kind of boost levels on 110 and above only....

you guys with the gt700s have to have the diode.... thats the only way that car is able to produce the power- at higher boost levels.... I had one 2 years ago as well... but I never ran my car on pump wt 1.5 bars... thats insane. thats how Sharky, CJV, etc... bent their rods... they were running a ton of boost...( not picking on u guys either).
you guys are taking a major risk- sorry but will any and I said any tuner fix your blown head gasket or bent rods for free... I don't think so.
again- Im not picking on anyone.. just I know thats dangerous on pump gas.

23.5 lbs? That's extremely high. I only run 1.3 bar (18.8 psi) max with my car (600 rwhp/600 rwtq), and that's using 100 octane.

Mark is right,I would be careful with those boost levels on pump gas.

as long as ur on 100 octane and at 1.5 bars sustained.. I think thats doable...
call the tuner, ask if its Ok.. worse case scenario you turn down the WGs....
I personally would run 1.3 bars on pump and 1.5 bars on 100 octane... problem is that u guys cant control the boost setting liek we can with the greddy boost controller( im sure Stephen can make it happen). I think that would be ideal.

also the boost will change based on temperature... so if u live in CAli or Fl... ur always HOT.... but for us in the midwest.... well my boost would go up and down with temp.

Mark I live in Washington and today it was in the low 60's. I have a call into my tuner and he will call evo and garrett on monday. What concerns me is that on the stock gauge i am seeing 1.2bar and 1.8bar on the defi. I have seen 1.3 and 1.4bar on the stock gauge before and that would mean over 2.0bar
