New clutch and LWFW from Kevin
New clutch and LWFW from Kevin
Well now I've driven my car a couple of times after installing the new clutch and lwfw I got from Kevin at Ultimate Motor Werks. This set up feels great the clutch action is much more precise than stock but not to abrupt for everyday use the pedal effort is not noticeably harder than stock.. The difference in fly wheel weight is amazing the stock fly wheel is super heavy.. Although I haven't really driven it hard yet the car does seem to rev faster..
There is some noise but it's about what I expected not to bad.. So far I am extremely happy with my decision to go this way....

Kevin,
Sorry I was trying to edit my post and accidentally screwed up your message. I edited the wrong post. I couldn't find what the original post was. Please accept my apologies. I am a fumble fingers today.

Hmm, that is a little general. What you consider acceptable is not the same as someone else. I just sent a car back that had the clutch changed three times until the owner was happy. So what I thought was perfect, he did not. Again, like exhaust notes and levels of noise. Tolerance is always different person to person.

Glad you are enjoying the clutch.
I also have a general question out there. Since we know that certain cars run faster even though they have less peak HP and torque, are these clutches rated for peak HP/Torque? Anyone know how clutches are rated? Is it a scientific process or one of those where they just essentially interpolate/extrapolate that it works for a certain application?
I was reading some old threads from 2004 that I found while trying to do some research on the various tuner stages where there seem to be little difference in real world performance even though some cars had higher HP numbers on the dyno. The thread just ended with no conclusion on how it was eventually resolved. I was wondering if the clutch HP ratings had similar dyno vs real world implications.

Did he tell you that is also with couple of fingers I cut off? Took some time before I could use them like that again. I get crabby and never give up. He will tell you that. It was some very good times for me the two of us under Sharky's car making, fixing and modifying!

Sheez, I wish. Getting bigger means more overhead, more employees and less money for the boss. Thank gawd I do it because I love it.
Yep, that was a crazy night. I was more pissed that I couldn't bowl that season since my average was like 193 Oh well. Adds character. Or so they say. Now you know why I have so many typos! The best part about it is I told my two boys that I was picking my nose and the bugger monster ate them. That curtailed their picking for a while until they figured out dad was full of it!

Yeah I hear you the overhead cost with business expansion. I thinks marketing cost is the biggest burden. That's why a lot of small businesses like to stay small and focus.
