aka GPS (Satellite Navigation)
The price actually went down to under 3K on 03ss and is now standard equipment on 04 TTs

So does this have any bearing on whether the car has the Bose 10 spkr. system or are these 2 totally independent options? If so, then what stereo comes with the Comm. Mgmt. package?

thx.

on TTs from 02 on, Bose is std. eqpmt. independent of PCM. From 03 the factory option is renamed PCM II and has a bigger screen, and the whole audio system is connected by MOST (fiber optics) so upgrading to aftermarket stuff is impossible.

So, if I have an 02 with this option what exactly do I have in terms of head unit, Cd player, speakers, and brand of screen? How easily can I upgrade the stuff to a better screen, head unit, amp, or CD/MP3 player? Do I have to yank everything out because it is incompatible or can I build and swap components out?
thx.

On an 02 you (luckily) dont have the MOST system so upgrading should not be a problem. I believe the NAV screen is made by Becker...The headunit and speakers and sub are all Bose....

Do you know how easy it is to remove the center dash console to access the screen. I wonder if I can just swap it out with a better resolution screen with variable inputs (like the Panasonic).

Do you know the dimensions on the screen?
Is this stock Bose system decent or is it lacking in any area?
I realize you can always upgrade to better speakers and amps, but if it sounds decent, it should do for now. Otherwise, I am more interested in the video aspect.

Id say test it out for a while before you upgrade....
PM luting_chen or EM 996GTS on this board or buddy g as all of them have done stereo upgrades (major!!) and aftermarket DVD/Navi screens
I'd start a new thread too and/or do a search here
