So, Ive found a car that I think I want to buy at Team Motorsports in Springfield Missouri. Has anyone have anything to say about them??? Anybody dealt with them/heard anything about them? I'm a little worried, because the car is out of warranty, and they are not providing any type of warranty on the car. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Also, what tests should I have done on this to make sure it won't blow up on my drive home?!

We have dealt with them before. I guess it was fine, the car was great, no issues to talk about. Go for it.

Did they provide you with any type of warranty when you left the lot? Even like a 1000 mile/30day warranty, just so if the car blows up when you leave the lot they will stand by their cars?

Im assuming they are not a P car dealer? If so they could have provided you with a unbiased inspection report.

Well well, to answer my own question, I would NEVER EVER buy from this dealership!! I was about to drive up today to pick up the 01' turbo they have with 7k on it, asking 66k for. I'll post a link below. While he had been extremely nice through out most of the conversations, when I started digging a bit into the history of the car, Mark started to get a little upset. Not only did they lie about the number of owners, but made a hillarious story about a 'descrepency' in the carfax report. After consulting with Mark for about a week, I asked him if I could do a PPI on it. He obviously said sure, then made a sarcastic remark about how it was unneccessary, but I could have as many people I want to look at it. However, he would not help with getting the car to the Porsche dealership, which was only 6 miles away to get it PPI'd. In fact, he initially stated that he had never known of a Porsche dealerhsip in Springfield, Missouri, even though he had been working there for 30 or so years, so he says.

After telling me he was good friends with the previous owner, a physician, I called him up, the so called physician. He was a construction worker, and was also the 3rd owner, of what Mark was adamantly saying was only a 2 owner car. In the end, when I simply asked Mark if he could explain what was going on, he flipped out and in the end just hung up, without answering any of the questions I had so nicely asked. I am so glad that I did not go through with purchasing this turbo, there must be a reason he didn't want much for it. Good looking car though!

FYI - I bought a 1997 993 turbo with 3800 miles on it from Team Motorsports in 1999. I traded a 1997 993 TT with 6,800 miles on it for a change in color. I bought the car with pictures only and a gentlemans agreement that if the car was not as described after a test drive, I would put it back on the truck and the paperwork would be reversed. The car arrived and was cosmetically perfect. The test drive was great, as well. I loaded my car on the truck and it was a done deal. No problems, each party received a pefect car in return. In retrospect, it was foolish not to have a PPI, but my dealings with Team were very good. I would not do that again, though, without a PPI.

It turns out the car had originated from my local dealer and the head tech (whom I knew very well) had done all the work on the car and had all the records. He explained the first owner was transferred to England and had to sell the car.
