Hi all, I've finally decided up move up to the Turbo (I'm currently driving a 1999 C2), and I've been looking over the color choices. I saw a 2001 Turbo with the Cobalt Blue this weekend, and I was surprised at how shallow the paint luster seemed to be; I expected it to look much deeper, more like my Arena Red (Burgundy). I wonder if there was something wrong with the car I saw?

I'm also considering the darker blues, and there seem to be several other choices: Midnight Blue, Ocean Blue, and Lapis Blue. I haven't had the opportunity to view these other colors in person, so I thought I'd inquire with those of you have experience with them. Any impressions / opinions?

Ocean blue was discontinued and replaced with lapis before the TT came out...Midnight is special order and has more of a purple tint to it than lapis...Both blues show scratches a lot!! I know cause my friand has a lapis 02 and man those lines and swirls are visisble

 

I had Ocean, on my 2000 C2. It was discontinued as a standard color just before the TT came out as mentioned, BUT if you find one. Get it. It's the most beautiful of all the blues by far IMO. There are a couple of TT's in it because some people were pissed that they discontinued it and they elected to get it anyway as a paint to sample.

 

I've got Midnight blue and I love it. It looks almost black until the light hits it.

 

i like cobalt blue, saw a lapis blue yest and it was georgeous

 

I had an ocean 99 C2 cab and thought it had too much green in the color...The lapis is much nicer IMO

 

I think Ocean has too much green on it. My bro has a cobalt gt2 and it looks very unique this summer when we drove drew manhatten it attracted alot of attention. also I like Zenith Blue but that is special order I believe. If you can find a cobalt with black leather I would grab it, I kind of want that color I think it would look amazing with black techart formula rims

DId you have a yellow Carrera 4 with an aero package a few years ago! I used to love that car in college. Ithink it was a 99. I know you had a few C2's

 

Yup - the yellow C4 was mine...turned more heads than my 01TT...truly pimp car I was gonna get my 03 TT in yellow too but I hate how often I used to get pulled over....I am a step 35 (until 2 days ago - back to 14!!) so dont need that extra benefit of yellow

 

You used to drive like a nut, I raced you in my A4 that was supercharged acouple times... but that was atleast 5 years ago...man I feel old! Im still waiting to sell all of the condo's im building until then no Turbo for me. We are gonna have to rent the entire front of armani cafe this summer. I wanna see atleast 6 turbos in a row! haha

 

I can arrange 4 me, my friend with 02 lapis, John and his white beauty and ESK and black TT cab....You and Chris would be 5 and 6

Also the food sucks at armani cafe the only good part about the place is that its on the sunny side of newbury street. haha
