I just ordered a set of Yoko Ono's AVS sports for my GT3...

I am thinking of buying another set of wheels for them and keep my PS2's on the OEM wheels. I like the forged Kinesis K-28's anodized. I think the grey anodize would look great on my car. Two questions:
1) what's the reverse lip option all about??? Is there an advantage or disadvantage as compared to standard lips???
2) Where to buy...I hear Wheel Experts now handles Kinesis...Can the wheels come in any offset??? ie, my requirements are:

Front: 8.5 J x 18 H2, 40mm offset
Rear: 11 J x 18 H2, 63mm offset

The reverse lip option gives you the appearance of having a 19" wheel with only 18's. The more I see the less I know for sure.

The reverse lip goes straight back with no step in the lip as the standards. The 18R's use the same centers as a 19" standard since there is no step on the lips. There is no downside as I know. They are 18" wheels.... The Reverse lips are harder to mount rubber on, that is about it.

Reverse lips it is!!! Guess I need to give wheel experts a call. Can't imagine those wheels come cheap!!!

The only downside to a reverse lip wheel is that it weighs about 1.5-2 lbs more than the same wheel with the standard rim halves, primarily due to the larger wheel center. However, given the weight of your standard GT3 wheels, you'll still do better (read...lighter) with any Kinesis forged wheel.

As for offset, they will be able to come very close to the factory specs -- probably ~ 38.5mm front and ~ 63.5mm for the rear. Of course, width will be exactly 8.5 and 11".

 

The only downside is that water can accumulate in the inside of the wheel and cause vibration at certain speeds. Im not sure if this is a characteristic of reverse lips, but I have talked to several HRE owners with the "R" model wheel who have experienced the same issues. Im not sure if this is a common occurence with these type of wheels in general (deep dish, etc.)? I had the same problem with my custom made forged wheels for my M3.
