Pros and Cons: K16 Turbos Vs. K24s Turbos
I think the idea is that wether you have K16s or K24s
1. you can get a combination that can BOTH reduce relative lag and increase power
or
2. drastically reduce lag
or
3. dratically increase HP

A freer flowing exhaust will allow your turbos to spool about 500 RPM quicker. This, in conjunction with more aggressive timing in the lower RPM range, a more efficient intake system and the increased efficiencies of an after market turbo (EVO-GT700, UMW-ZC, Protomotive-majic) allow you to use a bigger turbo which can produce more low & high RPM power. I believe this is possible up to about 700HP. From that point on, you do give up some low end in exchange for exponential increases in the upper RPM range IMO. If I ever upgrade from the GT700, I will ensure my engine is built to handle a meaningfully increased red-line to take full advantage of the new efficiency range. Bottom line, I believe you can have the best of both worlds up to 700HP.

I agree with Mike...
Todd K told me that a well designed system( efficient) will greatly improve spool up time as well. So one can have bigger turbos as long as the air flow restrictions are addressed. Evoms has done this with the Plenums, bigger TB, and better ICs.... same goes for Protomotive...
