Rear brake caliper to complement 8piston

I have found that rear 4 piston caliper provided with 8 piston front upgrade is not sufficient. Brake bias is off imo. Any suggestions? Tia

Call Chris Miller at Race Technoligies. They have a 14" rotor with a small piston F50 front caliper .... works very well.

Sharkster,

I have the brembo 8pod brakes. These come with a larger 4piston for the rear, which actually is the stock front brakes from a 996. I have found that these are working a bit too hard and get more hot. I think a 14 or 15" rotor would help out. Wondering if anyone has done something like that. Thanks

I asked the same question when I bought my kit and Race Technologies recommended the F50/14" rears as even the 13" was giving bias at the time...see my sig for pics

The 8 piston kit is sold as a properly biased system. They did upgrade the rear to the larger rotor but I am not sure when they started doing that on your specific kit. Buying a larger rear set may negatively affect your bias rather then improve it. I suggest you call Race Technologies and go over it with them to find out the best possible options. Good luck.

it's weird that they'd recommend F50/14'' rear if u have 8 piston 15'' front. the better set up would be 13.6'' rotor with stock look caliper if u want 8 piston 15'' front.

i just upgarded the F50/15'' front & 14'' rear & i love it. IMO the caliper looks better (shape) this way and it's lighter. i'll save the big 8 piston for my SL

can anyone post pic for me?

yes Cary, but going with the 14'' front on Turbo u need a new wheel carrier and requireds a front end alignment after installation. that's why the list price on this kit is even more than the 8 piston 15'' front. more labor too.

i went with the F50/15'' front though
