Ecu Flash I would think, at least from what I have learned on here. As far as prices I think it would depend on who you went to for the flash.

Thats just crank HP though. Not power at all 4 wheels. Not BHP but AWHP!

How will it only add power to the crank? I hope that more powerful crank dosent overpower the rest of the engine. It dosent matter if you add 1hp or 100hp to an engine, there will be a gain at the wheels. Of course you will loose some power through the drive train, but you are still gaining power at the wheels be it .5hp or 50hp

if ur smart u can do it for under $10K.

Markus as my post reads I am only interested in power at the wheels not the crank. A chip may add 70bhp at the crank but a chip alone will get me no where near 475 at the tire

If you want around 475 awhp, first question: Is your car an X50 or not?

If not, you'll probably need different turbos (at least a K24 but if you're changing them anyway, you have other choices).

Reflash, Exhaust, and different turbos will get you where you need to be.

If you go the GIAC route, a Stage III will get you there.

I personally know of a local x50 that dyno'd over 430 awhp with just an exhaust change (car was originally an x50 car). We'll find out next week what the Stage III chip did, but I think it'll get it pretty close to 475 awhp

Flash and exhaust with k16's will get you 450whp. If you've got an x50, it will get you near 500whp.

I thought so too but as I have stated in the past, I'd give a 5-10% swing on absolute dyno numbers. I think they're best used for relative comparisons of the car in similar circumstances. I'm curious on what ECU and flash numbers come up with.

Tell him to take it down the 1/4 and see what the trap speed is.

and we all know that if the number isn't in agreement with some sort of predetermined standard...that someone will say that the speedo or radar gun was off or something .

Just providing a data point.
