I weighed my 996TT with techart body, 6 speed, chromes and 1/4 tank of gas on an auto scale and it came in at 3522lbs if that helps.

Yes it helps. I think the autos are a little heavier. And I have Kinesis chrome K18r's which feel about the same as stock. Hey but I do have the Fabspeed exhaust which is lighter than stock...hehehe.

ah it was ok, just tossed it in the fryer for awhile and was done with it. good for a couple more lbs. these cars are pigs and the extra serving of turkey doesn't help.

I think if you do a search, you'll find a discussion on the weight gain over the years (I recall seeing this discussion last year). Off hand, I think the post-01 models gain a glove box and some stereo upgrades (a bass unit in the back seat, I think?). Anyway, it's not a huge (<100 lb) gain.

The good news is with some effort, you can shed quite a bit of this weight. I've got mine down to 3360 on an empty tank . Not quite GT2 territory, but at least decent.
