IPOD integration help

Anyone got a DIY on how to integrate the IPOD with the stock porsche sound system? I used ICELINK with my previous car, and after inquiring about it, I was told that DENSION currently has no solution for my car.

any ideas? I tried searching already....

thanks, and happy thanksgiving !

We have a very large group buy underway now, for the latest Dension unit soon to be available. If your Turbo is pre-'03, can't help. But if '03 or later:

http://www.bumperplugs.com/DensionGroupBuy2.html

The documents show through '06, but it's through ALL Current model years from '03+.

Email me:

Full Name
Model/Year
Bose?
Nav?
CD Changer?

Being on the list means that we will notify you when the units are available, no $$ commitment right now, and we will have a reduced price for everyone on that list.

I have a 02...yes I have the unit in my car and it works 100%. Plugs in the back of the radio then threaded thru the back of the glove box. I love it. Its a denison icelink.

for my 01 I bought and aux input kit from becker's website and put a phono jack in the center console. Not a full integration, but it did the trick for me and total cost was about $25...

Does anyone know why they quit selling the Icelink in the USA?

I am using an FM interface with good luck -- but there is also a lot less interference in the radio bands out here in the plains then you big city guys.

If anyone can get the old Icelinks into the US, I may be in.

Roger

JohnnyBeatles, could you let us know where you got your unit? I'm assuming that it's a full integration through cables that also charges the ipod?

thanks !

Kevin,
Yes your right full integration. You have to spend a few minutes figuring how to switch songs and things like that but it works full function. I will check from my vendor but I won't get a answer till monday...I will let you guys know then.

Johnny,

thanks for your help. assuming it's the same icelink setup as I had on my previous car, I'll definitely pick up a set. It's the one thing that I miss from my previous car that i haven't been able to get working.

by the way, another thing I was looking for is a "homelink" type integration to open garage doors, and community gates. Do you guys know where I can pick some up? Kirby has a DIY in his photo gallery on rennlist, but I don't have the tools I need to pull it off.

I assume you both are running the CDR220? If so, I doon't think you can do the Icelink thing. You can use the auxillary cable available from Becker NA that allows you to plug your Ipod in via the headphone jack of the Ipod. It's not the "ideal" option since it doesn't charge the Ipod or allow you to control it via the deck, but it does allow direct audio input through the headunit's aux-in port so you don't compromise sound quality.

It is my understanding that the icelink plugs into the existing cd-changer harness. As long as I have a cd changer harness in the front 'trunk' it technically should work...
