Finally, the test of the new no drone Fabspeed
Finally, the test of the new no drone Fabspeed
Well, here it is.. The long awaited Fabspeed muffler (third generation) Like anything with time these too get better. As I have posted in several of the other postings on the 997TT board this muffler is constructed in the same manner. If you look at the fittings you will see like the factory is uses a ball and socket type connection. Many complained that the alignment and clamping of the cats to muffler were difficult. We have installed so many that it never was an issue however we have had to walk customers through the install. The new exhaust is as simply as holding it in place, slipping the clamp and tightening the 11mm nut. The fitment can be adjust from the cat out to the tips so that tip or can alignment is also not an issue.
The units are like the 997TT pieces we tested are T304. Again, polished to a mirror finish and the welds are impressive. One of the things we continue to notice with the new design is that even though these are lighter in weight then the stock exhaust they are sturdy units. I have tested many exhaust and some simply are thin gauge metal. If you popped someone with one of these they would know it J
Now, what do they sound like. We tested the same level that we tested on my 997TT on our 996TT. The units sound almost identical. Something that has been long over due. They start up and rumble, but the frequency that will typically wiggle your nose hair is gone. You take notice of the growl, but it is with out the drone that will encompass the entire cabin of the car. The unit comes in three sound levels, low, med and loud.
I have some dynos to share which are similar to the old FS gains and the new 997TT gains. I will post these shortly.

Great to hear, Fabspeed has always had a bad rep for the blatting loudness and drone, now with amazing gains still I'm sure of, more melodic tone and little to no drone it should be awesome
