A little extra turbo noise in the cabin would be cool. Chad, have you heard the Promotive system from inside the cabin? How much extra noise is there?

The S CAR GO intake is breathless. The R&D on the t unit musst have taken for ever. WHO did the carbon work??? That is one sweet lookng peice. Hamman7 do you have picts of the Promotive System It also sounds very interesting. I love that you can run blowoffs on your car.

I don't have pics handy of the system, but I will ask Protomotive.

The extra Turbo noise is the best part. It is sooooo cool!!! You can really hear that compressed air being blasted.

As CJV said, he wants to enjoy his Reus stereo. For me, I could give two ****s about the crappy radio. Turbo and exhaust noise is all the music I need.

The quietness of the GT2 is beginning to bug me.

Zippy,

To answer your question, yes and no. The Protomotive methodology regarding drawing air closer to the turbo's and from the fenders is not new to the industry. I have driven in other Porsche's that utilized this method and you really hear the turbo noise. I am not saying it is wrong. I am sure some people would like it. It is not unlike Fabspeed exhausts or open pipes. They are a good way to make power abeit some tradeoff's.

What if any noies do you get out of the S Car Go intake. I like the spooling sound that comes witht he turbo cars. I like people to know that there is somthing special under the hood of my car. Hamann you were running two blitz BOV's with that setup. How loud was the Atmosphere let off???

under my hood is the spare and the CD changer
its actually funny sometimes when you go to malls where they do security checks and they tell you to pop the hood to check your engine...i usually tell them its in the back but once just let them check the front for laughs

Chad, comparing the Protomotive intake system to the Fabspeed straightpipes is ludicrous. It's not THAT loud.

You can promote that S-Car-Go carbon fiber intake all you want, but let's not exaggerate the tradeoff of the Protomotive one.

You're right that the principle is not a new idea, but the idea in this case for the 996 application was devised between Todd and Wilber. The cool part, however, is the relocation of the MAF downstream of the Turbos which many tuners on this board think doesn't work, but the results showed otherwise.

Well I guess the S-Car-Go intake is for people like Chad that like their wood trim interior and Reus stereo. For me, I want to actually hear what my car is doing.

Code Red,

The OEM intake is cast aluminum and rubber hose. I weighed it at one time, however I don't remember the exact muber anymore. I believe it was twenty something pounds.

Tyson,

You are reading into my quote more than I intended. My point was you can really notice the sound difference. I did not intend to convey the turbo noise was as loud as the Fabspeed exhaust. For the sake of clarification, I concur with your point.

Your last quote.... well, different strokes for different folks.
