Smile Thinking of GT700, your thoughts?

Hello everyone,

My TT is now in storage for the winter months, so I have some time to think about more HP for next season.
I purchased my 03 TT in May of this year. It was great, but soon I got HP hungry . I had the ECU flashed by FVD, and had put on a BMC air filter. Again, it was great for awhile, but now I'm HP hungry again. I thought instead of baby steps, this time i'd go right to GT 700.
My local dealership had suggested I look into EVO GT700, FVD, and Orton. I have seen on the forum that most cars have the EVO kit, but does anyone know about the other two?
I am looking for max HP gain, performance, and reliability.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Where in Canada are you? PM Vanboost and see how close he is.. get a ride if you can. I like the GT700 a lot in terms of a daily d etc... The power ranges a bit depending upon the program and gas you run but I'd be happy to help or point you in the right direction

Just a little tip, EVOMS has another Holiday Specials thread and the GT700 kit is over $4000 discounted...

Alex, I'm in Western Canada, but quite a ways away from Vanboost. He was actually the one I had talked to to get this idea. He was very happy with what you had done for him.
I am just running 91 octane gas. Suggestions?

Hmm I need to look and see/find out some other Canadian cars that we've done. I've only had 4 shipped to us personally for 700s from Canada but those were from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. I wonder if Todd or other EVO dealers had cars done near you? If it's only 91 you'd be mising out on some good power with 93 or 100 but you'd still be making a tonne of power. 91 does limit you though.

Not a 6speeder although he may have been done by EVO? The guy I'm talking about is an "old" friend from my technology days. He's technology geek like me.

You're saying that in the Land of Dead Dinosaurs there is no 94 octane?!?!

I reiterate, you'll have no regrets with the GT700 or Sharkwerks.

I have no further thoughts, as overexposure to multiple atmospheres has dumbed me down a little. I just squeeze the throttle, watch the boost gauge and grunt, "unnngh." And drool a little.

At $23k, I'm thinking about it too. There are two things holding me back, 1) you're running a hell of a lot of boost, 1.5 bar on pump gas and 1.6+ with the race file (if I'm not mistaken), 2) no MAF solution as of yet.

I'm also interested in the GT700 equivalents (performance wise) from Protomotive, you can get the same power from 1-1.1 bar on pump gas and 1.3 on race, but they don't like me I guess, so I'm SOL. EVOMS kits are definitely more accessible, you can potentially have your car up and running with 600whp in a few days.

You and me and only a few others agree that the ICs are a strong area of gains and a weakness on the car. Most folks think that the stockers are the best thing ever
