Ok we have the 2WD, the seats and less electrical accessory crap but that really is a big difference

the front seats are probably 75 lb lighter for both, I think the rear wing is lighter also.

Can we get a few factual GT2 weights? 4WD Turbo weights? 2 WD Turbo weight?

MY 2001 996 tt stock with a lot of leather (e.g. weight) weighed in at 3672 with a 1/2 tank of fuel (8 gallons), so figure 3,634 dry (3672 - 8 galx6lbs).

My 2003 GT2 (USA version with USA sport seats) and roll bar added, full leather and 3/4 tank of fuel weighed in at 3,284, so figure 3,212 dry (3,284 - 12 gal x 6lbs).

So 3,634 - 3,212 = 422 pounds or about 192 kilos lighter for the GT2.

You must have alot of options on your TT. My stock 2003 TT with heated/memory seats while 4 corner balancing weighed 3471 with 1/2 tank of fuel (without driver of course). The fronts are 671/655 and rear 1082/1063. The owners manuel stated that a manual TT weights 3394.9 lbs without options. With the heavy seats gone (126 lbs savings) and RG5 19s, it now weights 3293 dry, not bad for an AWD with standard battery, subwoofer, and rear seat still in.

Scott, did you weigh prior to coverting to 2WD? Have you removed / changed anything else?

I was at 3,500 when it was stock. RWD conversion, battery, wheels, exhaust, flywheel, spare tire removal, etc...is what dropped me where I am now.

Thanks , interesting where the weight saving to GT2 is. The doors, seats and tail weigh a lot-- I have all off car and will weigh them soon. The doors really weigh -- sitting beside them are carbon doors off race car that weigh nothing by way of comparison but it becomes a question of the practacality of how far to go with weight saving.
