I'll talk to him about what his opinion is on doing a set up on a 996TT or a 997TT later tonight.

I believe the car put down 1100rwhp when it was first dyno'ed, then it was stolen.

I have meth injection on my caddy CTS-V runs phenominal, I use ALKY CONTROL kit. I prefer the 50-50 mix, it cools the intake charge by
30 percent. this would solve the intercooler problems associated with our
cars. by the way the caddy is FI (magnacharged).

I had methanol injection on most of my cars (turbo and blown)...then I lost two motors because the pump failed....removed all the units...no more MI...

there were no fail safes built into the systems you ran?

There where...however the first pump went out during a high boost/high rpm run...the second one worked, however it only put out 3psi at all times....bye bye two motors...together that was a $62,000.00 learning curve!

Somebody please correct me....

or confirm that I'm correct.

From my indy car racing days at Cosworth in the UK (where I helped design the ECU), I could have sworn that methonal had a lower energy density than pump gas - Am I mistaken here ? Thus effectively adding methonal cools and adds more oxygen to the fuel input rather than raising the octane rating ?

BTW
The lower engergy density (?) caused some interesting problems getting enough of it into the engine when at WOT /13,500 rpm (about 240MPH) and about 1.8mpg - so we had a bank of 6 pre-compression injectors squirting fuel directly into the intake of the turbo charger !

The PCI's added fuel and cooled the air a little at the same time - after a race the engine had to be 'pickled' on regular gas for a while otherwise the methonal would gum up the injectors.

Just thought I'd share a few memories - as for dyno testing and exploding engines in F1, that's a whole new chapter.....

there are several advantages w/ meth-water injection
-consistent in take tempertures 90-95 degree days
-pumps the octane up,run safer boost levels

disadvantages
-meth is very corosive esp for our motors
-if it's used as in additional fuel & the pump fails
-highly flamable most guys use the windsheild washer resoiver which in IMHO
isn't save.
