Wow. Not another car discussion that degenerates into name calling and personal attacks

Look at it this way. What would you say to someone that posts "so I ran a 131mph GT2 in my 110mph Jetta, but thanks to my awesome gearing, I was only a car length behind from 30 to 130" Would you not tell said Jetta driver that he was full of **** and stupid?

Thus......

All I did was post what happened. If you're not happy with the result, I can't help it. I thought everyone would enjoy a video and a story on Christmas.

I'm done talking to you about it.

Dont get me wrong, the viper vid is sweet. I didnt know Saad made the switch to snakes from supras, though it seems to be a prescribed course of action for the fast supra guys.

I just find it strange that you would consider such a short run an accurate representation of the cars abilities.

The viper has alot more then the TT.... so loosing 1.5 cars is not bad...
The P car has better aerodynamic at higher speeds...

I don't think Joe's point was to bash Vipers. My understanding is that he didn't think the race would be that close, i.e. he expected a spanking. This despite the fact that he has a wicked-fast car himself. He went on to explain that the GT2's gearing is what helped make the race this close. I'm sure he wouldn't deny that the Viper would've pulled him much harder to 200mph.

I think you mis-intrepreted the post as Joe trying to say that Vipers (10 second Vipers no less) are crap. With Joe's experience on the strip, it would be safe to assume that he knows that a 9 second track car will have a hard time finding the traction on the street to run the same number.

Try to re-read his posts without your blinders. I'm sure you'll come to a different conclusion.

Edit:

Everybody knows a street race between such high hp cars is not a true representation of either car.

Street tires and drag/slick are two different stories.... most car that run fast loose .5 seconds at the strip when run on street tires... thats why Joes car was very close.... His aerodynamics are way better also...

I also thought I would loose to the viper hands down.

And finally i am not the only damm one to say it. On the highway, with other exceptions like crazy TT viper's, the only one of my viper friends to beat me by a CL was Dimitrios over on Viperclub.com .. Yellow RT10 ROE 10 psi sc'd car, meth injection and so on, they do not PULL HARD on the highway, again within limits for what they would pull at the dragstrip.

Nice run Joe, that Viper is fast, and so is your damm GT2

Joe,

I met your (other?) buddy with the Yellow twin turbo Viper on December 2nd.
I believe he was driving beautiful 73mm Supra Turbo (black). I am just trying to keep things straight! You have at least (2) buddies with twin turbo Vipers: one is black and is pictured here running a fricking awsome 10.21 @
151 approx, and the other is Yellow with black stripes and does not run at the strip too often but it was built by UGR for a guy in New York and is now
owned by your buddy (I cannot remember his name but he was very nice
at the track, observing like me!), who also has the black Lethal Supra.

Nice runs Joe, and as I have said before (and others): when you are up
against ANY twin turbo Viper...ALL BETS ARE OFF, they are the king of the
Jungle.

Cheers,

Marty K
