Curious, how much for my TT?
another factor why I will keep it is for tracking purposes. I can't see the Lambo being reliable for tracking 4-5 times a year. P-cars are made for tracking.
So my next mod are 18's that will fit over the 8 piston brakes.
Darren, I will keep it - thanks

The mods bring you nothing and when they find out you've been in the Gumball and Cort Wagner has drag raced it, they will all run away. You would be best to remove and sell what you can, convert to stock and sell at wholesale price. Thats what I'm going to do.

I must say though, sending potential buyers a video of you going 150+ mph might not be the best way to sell the car LOL.
Just IMHO and with no disrespect...
Sounds to me like Fred has squeezed out as much attention and press he can from his money pit TT. It's now on to another attention grabber. You simply don't dump that much money into a car unless you need to be "King of the Hill" I must say Fred you have accomplished that goal...
now on to another.
The brutal fact is there few possible candidates that will purchase a car like that especially at those lofty prices. My first impression would be "this car has be driven hard" and who knows what could go wrong. I realize you won't sell it and probably?
don't need to but time will never be on side. The car is worth less today then yesterday. Cars will and always will be big boy toys and if you think once you're done playing with them you can ever be satisfied with a decent acceptable sell price, we all better get a reality check. I have a 2001 TT with Stage 2 and newly acquired Techart 19' and Contis with 11K miles on it. I would lucky to get $80K. But hey I don't really want to sell it.
It's like a girlfriend. She might have been something special for a few months/years but once the spark is gone you would like to get something for her before you dump her but you want to get the most you can or why bother. Just keep her around. She may not get any better with age but what the hell, she already knows you pick your nose.
Fred,
I think you're a good guy. But you strick me as someone always looking for something better/different/keep you excited (I think that is very cool by the way). As you age as I have, you realize life does settle down and what you got is pretty damn good.

Rspiteri,
You are dead on. I love my car to death but I have a tendency to get bored very quickly. I wish that wasn't the case though sometimes
I usually switch cars from year to year but this go around is very different from the others.
I have a car that is in the top range of High HP/TQ output and a new Stock car would simply not even come close , except for a CGT, Enzo, and a few others. So taking a huge financial loss and going to a lesser HP car doesn't make sense at this moment. Bottom line is if I had the money I probably would make the change right now, why not? But I don't have the finances at this moment to justify a change.
thanks again !

Fred that is my problem - I get bored with these things and it has cost me like $55k in hits on cars over the past 6years - SO DUMB!!!!!
We need to just get another car and leave the current one alone for a little while - Trickle charger and cover the baby - Come back to it in a month and I guarantee it is like Love at first sight all over again !

Fred;
I think that keeping it is a good idea... it is afterall a spectacular car!!!
However, it is probably "worth" it's max right now after the shootout article.
You could always run a half page ad in DuPont and see if anyone bites?

Keep that bad boy. Like someone else said, put it away for a little, then drive it again. It'll feel all new again. Your car is amazing, any which way you look at it. Performance? Oh hell yeah. Looks? Like no other.
And it's human nature, we always want we can't or don't have. It sucks, but thats the way things are. Say you dropped the Porsche and went to a Gallardo. Sooner or later, you're going to want a Murcielago. Then you'll want a Porsche Carrera GT. Annnd you get the picture

Right Buyer= Someone that loves everything about your car, would set up and mod it to the same or close to the same as you have, knows that even though the car has been driven "hard" its still a Porsche and was made to be driven "hard", even though it has been driven hard it has had an owner that has taken the upmost care in it and only applied the "best" to it no matter what that was. I definitely think you could get what you want for the car. If someone wants your car they will pay whatever it is your asking. I have seen MANY Porsche's go for alot more than what they are "supposed" to go for.
But....me personally....keep the Porsche....it is so much more than the Lambo could ever be, or Enzo for that matter.
Anyone wanna buy my 69' or 85' for 200 grand?

Keep it Fred... Your car is beautiful. The best looking car of all in the shootout.. IMHO
If your bored get the centers of your 543's anodized black and then we can have matching HRE's...

I personally don't think it's worth "downgrading" from a fully modified 996 turbo to a bone stock Gallardo, but hey everybody loves life differently

Exactly, you most likely won't also be able to sell the car that fast. The "right" buyer is gonna need to come a long. I'd put it in the dupont for a few months

edit: looks like everyone took my words out of my mouth

KEEP THE CAR FRED!!
Your Turbo is one of a kind. You can drive out there on the road at any given time, and know that no one else can match your car!
As for the Gallardo, Audi has shipped so many to the US that very soon, you will be able to pick up a used one for a great deal.
And just on a personal note, I would take your car over any Gallardo... ANY DAY!
Cheers!
