Hey guys, i need new rear tires, and i figured what the heck why not get all 4 replaced with the Avon competition tires...
i'm thinking of going with 235 in the front to reduce the understeer... what are your guys suggestion on this ?
Front:
235/40ZR18 Yokohama ADVAN A048 Blackwall
Rear:
295/30ZR18 Yokohama ADVAN A048 Blackwall Medium Hard Compound
If you guys approve i'm going to ask Alex at SharkWerks to order them for me lol!

I installed 235's in the front and its perfect on the track but since the rolling is slightly off (still within the 4%rule of thumb) but the truth is that they made the PSM trigger a lot earlier, to the point I removed them(they were given to me) and installed the 225's again.
As far as I'm concerned installing wider tires is not the correct path towards reducing understeer, please note the use of reducing instead of eliminating as ALL cars including race cars MUST understeer at high speed corners even if you have neutral or oversteering in slow and medium speed corners otherwise they become human traps. You should use camber, toe, damping and sway bar adjustment to adjust the handling as these paths vary their efficiency according to speed therefore allowing the car to keep understeering behaviour at very high speeds. All I just wrote is not for showing off my knowledge and race car driving experience, its because I believe tinkering with these cars without knowing your stuff might be dangerous and once again this may not apply to moving up to a merely 235 (it doesn't if its all you do to dial out understeer) but with a sportier suspension, increased camber, toe out, etc the car just might not understeer when it should... sorry for the long post but just wanted people to be aware a car is a weapon and playing with it should be left for Pro's.

Well i dont hope to correct all of the understeeer with it, just some...maybe i shouldnt go wider...i should just get the camber plates/sway bar
I am running 235 up front but I also put 315 on the rear with new rims. These have nearly identical diameters and I have not had the psm issues. I think if you only replace the fronts then you might have this issue. I also think you can do more with suspension and sway bars than you can with tires. An adjustable rear sway bar does wonders for understeer. I also agree that if you are not careful you can create too much oversteer and the car will feel nervous or twitchy for every day driving. Rear sway set not too stiff will yield you what you are looking for.
