New Questions and New Mods.....

Hey guys well after swearing to myself I wouldn't do too much to this car after the M3 the mod bug has made a return lol ..... I just put in a new custom sound system and a Pioneer Avic-N3 Navigation system which is pretty damn cool. The new system sounds amazing and was installed flawlessly. My next mod which I did was the GT3 center console delete. I felt it made the interior alot more functional and roomier and I also prefer the look beter also. My Rear center console was painted Seal Grey, which is at the shop right now being repainted to a custom black color. My interior changes are almost done since I finished ordering the rest of the parts today. The gauges in the car right now are black and im going to keep them that way except for the Tachometer which im changing to red. I'll also be getting red seatbelts and I ordered a red alcantara Momo shift ****. And to complete the interior theme I ordered black floor mats with red piping and they have "turbo" engraved in them in red also.

http://www.momousa.com/detail.php?ca...68&product=137
-this is the shift **** in red.

https://shop.fvd.de/picture.php?VID=...313TURBO_1.jpg
-new floor mats.

And I'm sure you guys know what a red gauge and seatbelts look like lol

---Now for the questions
1)where is the best spot to find the red seatbelts for the best price? I dont really care for the rear seat belts only the fronts.

2)Does anyone have a DIY or directions on how to install the reg gauge face since I only bought one gauge and not the whole cluster.

3)I'm sure this is going to be a dumb question but is there any speacial way to remove the stock shift ****, I haven't had a chance to research this yet?

And thats all folks!! I'll be sure to post up pictures as the new shipments come in and as things are installed. I'd really appreciate any suggestions or ideas as I really value everyone's opinion so dont be shy to be a little vocal. Thanks guys I'm really excited about this car can't wait for warm weather.

Since you asked... not really digging the shift ****. I like the floor mats though! FWIW I've seen too many Hondas and other "ricer" type vehicles with that shift **** and I don't think it really compliments the interior. Sounds like you got a very nice ride on your hands... Is that Illm3s old car?

Wow. Great car.

As for the questions, I think Scott in H-town has been through most of these mods himself. In case he misses this thread, PM Scott in H=town with the list of questions and he will get back to you quickly.

Yes it's his old car, I felt the shifter was a little ricey too but I juss cant find any other shift ***** except for the one I have on the car now which is the stock shift **** and the CF shift **** from Porsche, other than those two ***** I cant find any other ones. Do you know of any place I can get a nice one with maybe some red tied into it somehow to fit into my interior theme?

Got mine from Gert at Carnewal, fronts only. Don't know if this is the best price

mine came off very easily. Check to see if yours has a set screw, but it may not...in which case get your self some good leverage and pull hard (be careful when it releases that you don't go flying).

Thanks buddy, I'll definately have to do that. I know they aren't any crazy mods but they are just little things that will make the ride feel a little bit more like mine. I am starting to feel the shifter might be a little ricey but I cant find any other one with a lil red on it.

First of all, I like your mods. For the shift **** though, how bout a porsche CF **** with a red deviated stitching shift boot? I think that would be perfect.

Yea that would be perfect but it's hard for me to justify spending like $400 on a shifter but I might do it anyways. Do you know where I can order that but with the red stitching cause I haven't found it yet. I was also thinking of these 2 other shifters with red stitching but the CF is wayyy too much money but here they are just so you guys can seen them.

http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx/p96190.jpg

-I loveeeeeeeee this one but way to expensive

http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx/p96191.jpg

-I was most likely gonna go with this one, I emailed the seller and asked if it was possible to get red stitching so I'm waiting a reply back. So its between this shifter and the 996 Porsche CF ****.

Once again do you know of any place I can get the OEM Porsche 996 CF shift **** with red stitching? Thanks

-Justin

As soon as I get some decent pics I'll post em up but the rear center console isn't even in the car right now cuz its being painted, and I wont recieve the floor mats from fvd for another 3-4 weeks becase they are being made right now. But I'll post up pics to show the evolution of the interior.

Get this shifter first and then the rest as your budget allows. You don't have to do it all at once.
